The Barbers Liverpool is not just a barbershop, it is a craft kept alive. For over 30 years John Kean and his team have stayed true to traditional methods of barbering, the kind that take time to learn and care to master. Hot towel shaves, sharp scissor work and the steady hand of a cut-throat razor are not gimmicks to us, they are the foundation of everything we do. Every barber who works our chairs is trained in these time-honoured techniques, because we believe a great haircut is built on skill and patience, not shortcuts. Men who first walked through our doors decades ago still return today, and many now bring their own sons to experience the same standard. That kind of loyalty does not happen by accident. It is earned one great haircut at a time, built on trust, consistency and a genuine love for the craft. We are based in the heart of Liverpool and proud to have been part of this city’s story for as long as we have.

Do I need to book or can I just walk in?
We are a walk-in only barbershop so there is no need to book. Just come through the door at 3 Horton House on Exchange Street East and we will get you in the chair as soon as we can. We move quickly so you will never be waiting long.
Where are you located?
We are based at 3 Horton House, Exchange Street East, Liverpool L2 3YL. We are right in the city centre, a short walk from Liverpool Central and James Street stations and easy to find whether you are coming from the docks, the business district or the shops on Church Street.
How long will a haircut take?
Most cuts take between 20 and 30 minutes depending on the service. A beard trim on its own is usually around 15 minutes and our full straight razor hot towel shave takes a little longer at around 45 minutes. We are efficient without ever rushing the finish.
Do you accept card payments?
Yes we accept both cash and card including contactless. There is no minimum spend for card payments so however you prefer to pay we have you covered.
Can I bring a photo of the style I want?
Absolutely, we encourage it. Bringing a photo is the best way to make sure we are both on the same page before we pick up the scissors. Show us what you are after and our barbers will let you know what is achievable and how to get there.

The Barbers Liverpool has been serving the men of this city for over 26 years. We are a family business passed down through three generations of barbers, and we are proud to still be doing what we love right here in the heart of Liverpool.
